Returning Veterans Task Force
The Department of Georgia American Gold Star Mothers gives preference to official government agencies, established nonprofit organizations, and recognized veterans service organizations when linking to external resources.
The Georgia Department of Veterans Service exists to advise, counsel, and assist Georgia veterans and their families in obtaining the federal and state benefits they have earned through military service.
In addition to the Georgia Department of Veterans Service (GDVS), several state agencies and organizations work together through the Returning Veterans Task Force (RVTF) to help service members successfully transition from active duty to civilian life. The RVTF was established in 2013 as an interagency initiative focused on improving coordination of veteran services across Georgia.
These services may include employment assistance, workforce development, education and training opportunities, licensing support, behavioral health resources, veterans treatment courts, and community outreach programs.
