MONUMENTS
American Gold Star Mothers Tribute Memorial
In 1972, the Richmond County Chapter of American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. erected this memorial in downtown Augusta at Greene and 11th Streets. Its four sides honor those who sacrificed their lives in World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, with inscriptions dedicated to the fallen and their memory.
The memorial is especially significant to our Georgia history because it provides permanent physical evidence of the Richmond County Chapter's work and its commitment to preserving the memory of America's fallen service members.
