FOUNDING & ORGANIZATION
Macon Chapter•1949
On July 10, 1949, Gold Star Mothers gathered at First Presbyterian Church in Macon to organize a local chapter. Mrs. Amy Grantham of Hapeville, state organizer, led the effort. That Macon Chapter became the fouth Gold Star Mothers chapter organized in Georgia
